Family First

The Family First Program

Offers short-term, family-based services designed to assist families in crisis by improving parenting and family functioning while keeping children safe. The goal of the program is to improve family functioning so that children will receive appropriate care and the family will be able to remain intact and to address their life challenges.

Family First provides solution-oriented behavioral health care, counseling, and case management services to each family in the program. Family First also offers a special subset of family preservation for families whose challenges make the removal of a child imminent, as well as families preparing to be reunified with a child returning from out-of-home care.

The intensive, family-centered services of The Family First program are individualized to each family’s needs. Services are facilitated in the home on a flexible schedule designed to encourage participation by the entire family. Family Support Specialists carry small caseloads in order to give each family the attention they deserve.
