Substance Abuse Family Empowerment Program
SAFE is a 180-day, family-focused substance abuse education and treatment program aimed to improve the quality of life for the children within the program and their families. SAFE reduces the potential for drug and alcohol use, abuse, and addiction through promoting sobriety and an overall healthy lifestyle.
The SAFE program is unique due to its global focus on the child’s life. The program attempts to not only prevent drug use, but also improve the overall functioning of the family unit. We feel that parents are the first line of defense in the prevention of youth drug abuse; therefore, we educate the parents as to what their child is going through in the SAFE program and help them build skills to take part in their child’s recovery.
After the youth finishes the 180-day program, SAFE will assist with the implementation of an aftercare plan that includes local community resources, support groups and AA/NA home groups where they will continue to get the support needed to make a full recovery.
